This dish will interest children who love everything unusual and will surprise adults. It can be successfully served both on a typical day, and on a festive feast. If you want to make a light dinner, it is quite capable of becoming a main course. And for those who like a hearty meal, potato spirals are suitable as an original side dish for meat. In general, the dish is as versatile as it is simple to prepare and spectacular in appearance.

The most difficult part in preparing this dish is slicing potato tubers with even spirals. Perhaps the first potato will turn out not too neat, but with a little training, you can cut the rest just perfect.

Ingredients:

  • oblong potato tubers of approximately the same size - 4-5 pcs.;
  • soy sauce - 50 ml;
  • vegetable oil - 1 tbsp. l .;
  • ground sweet paprika - 2 pinches;
  • dried thyme - 1 pinch;
  • salt.

Cooking method:

Peel the potatoes and rinse them under running water to remove any remaining dirt particles from the tubers.

To prepare the marinade in a small bowl, mix the vegetable oil and soy sauce. Add dried thyme, ground sweet paprika and salt to taste. Salt carefully - do not forget that soy sauce already contains enough salt.

Plant the peeled potato tuber in the middle of a wooden skewer.

Take a small sharp knife and, moving from one edge of the potato to the other, carefully cut it in a spiral. Do not be afraid to cut through the potatoes - the wooden skewer on which it is worn will not allow this. Position the knife slightly diagonally in relation to the potato tuber, and try to make the next turn of the spiral parallel to the previous one, at a distance of 2-3 mm.

When the potatoes are completely sliced, set aside the knife and gently stretch the potato spiral with your hands on the skewer, moving from the middle to the edges.

Grease each potato spiral with a marinade. Try to spread potatoes not only outside but also inside.

Put potato spirals on a baking sheet and place in an oven preheated to 180 ° C. Bake for 25-40 minutes (the time depends on the size of the potatoes and the characteristics of your oven). In the cooking process, coat the potatoes with the remaining marinade 1-2 more times.

Put the finished potato spirals on a dish, decorate with greens and fresh vegetables. Serve warm.
