Currant tincture at home - the basic principles of preparation

Currants have a pleasant, sweet and sour taste, which makes the berries a real find for the manufacture of alcoholic beverages. They will save the finished drink from the pungent smell of alcohol and make it useful.

Tincture is one of the best options for making an alcoholic beverage from currant. Make it simple, for this you need the following ingredients: alcohol, vodka, moonshine, sugar and currant itself. However, there are more complex recipes that use a lot more ingredients.

Tincture is prepared from both red and black currants. It is important to use only good berries. Crumpled and rotten will not work. Berries are carefully sorted, removing twigs and garbage. The fruits are laid out in a sieve and washed under running water. It is advisable to prepare tincture from fresh berries, but if there are none, you can use frozen and even jam. As the alcohol base used: cognac, moonshine, vodka, alcohol or other alcohol-containing drinks.

The drink has a tart pleasant taste. The color of the tincture depends on the alcoholic beverage used.

Recipe 1. Tincture of currant at home on alcohol

Ingredients

three leaves of a bush;

750 ml of filtered water;

alcohol - half a liter;

300 g ripe black currants.

Cooking method

1. Carefully sort berries of a currant, having removed leaves, twigs and other garbage. Rinse them thoroughly under running water.

2. Take a bottle so large that the berries fill it halfway. Pour currants into a bottle.

3. Pour the contents of the dishes with alcohol and tightly seal with a cork. Leave for a week.

4. Strain the finished drink through a doubled cheesecloth. Now dilute it with filtered water in a ratio of 3: 2.

5. Pour the tincture into prepared glass bottles and store it in a basement or other cool room.

Recipe 2. Tincture of currants at home "Drunk Currant"

Ingredients

two kg of blackcurrant berries;

vanillin - a pinch;

ten leaves from a bush of black currant;

liter of vodka;

700 g of sugar.

Cooking method

1. We sort out the fresh fruits of blackcurrant, peeling them from leaves and twigs. We spread the berries in a colander or sieve and rinse.

2. Thoroughly wash the three-liter bottle and dry it. We transfer the currants into the prepared glass containers, pouring each layer with sugar. You do not need to rub and knead the berries, they must remain intact.

3. Pour the contents of the glass container with vodka, so that the alcoholic beverage completely covers the berries. We close the dishes with a lid and send them for a month to a dark place.

4. Filter the tincture through gauze or a fine sieve. Bottled, cork tightly and stored in a cool place for a year.

Recipe 3. Tincture of currant at home with caraway seeds

Ingredients

a pound of fresh black currant;

5 g of caraway seeds;

1 liter of 500 ml of high quality vodka;

20 leaves from a bush of currant.

Cooking method

1. The fruits of black currant sorted. We carefully monitor that all twigs, leaves and other debris are removed. We transfer the berries to a sieve or colander and rinse gently so as not to mash or damage them. We dry and pour into a clean bowl.

2. Knead the berries with a pestle or crush. If you have a blender, you can use it. In the berry mass add caraway seeds and leaves of the bush.

3. The resulting mixture is transferred to a clean dry bottle. Pour vodka and close the lid. Leave for a month and a half in a dark place.

4. Filter the drink and pour it on a glass container, a volume of half a liter. Tightly cork and store in a cool, dark room.

Recipe 4. Tincture of currants at home "Honey Nectar"

Ingredients

800 g of blackcurrant fruit;

600 ml of filtered drinking water;

liter of honey;

5 g ground cinnamon;

liter of moonshine.

Cooking method

1. Sort the berries of black currant, carefully removing all garbage. Rinse the fruit thoroughly. Grind them through a sieve, or beat until puree in a blender.

2. Pour liquid honey into the berry mass. It is best to use acacia honey. If you have thick, natural honey, melt it in a water bath.

3. Add cinnamon to the mixture and fill everything with moonshine. Stir the contents well. Transfer the resulting mass to a clean container, close tightly with a lid and put in a dark place for two weeks. Shake the tincture from time to time.

4. After the allotted time, strain the blackcurrant tincture and dilute it with drinking water so that the strength of the drink is 25 degrees. Pour into glass bottles, cork tightly and store in a cool dark place.

Recipe 5. Tincture of currants at home on cognac

Ingredients

900 g of ripe berries of currant;

liter of high-quality five-star cognac;

400 g white sugar.

Cooking method

1. To sort ripe berries of aronia from leaves, twigs and other garbage. Put the fruits in a colander or sieve and rinse. Leave to glass all the liquid.

2. Put the currants in a deep bowl, add sugar and pour all the cognac. Mix.

3. Wash and dry the glass container with a volume of two liters. Transfer currant mixture into it and cover. Soak for a couple of weeks in a dark place.

4. Filter the finished drink through a special filter. Pour into prepared bottles and store in a cool room.

Recipe 6. Tincture of red currant at home

Ingredients

300 g of red currant berries;

150 g of granulated sugar;

half a liter of vodka, alcohol, cognac or moonshine.

Cooking method

1. We sort the berries of red currant, removing twigs, leaves and other garbage. Rinse the fruit thoroughly.

2. A liter jar of mine with soda, rinse and dry. We shift red currants into it. Add granulated sugar and pour vodka or other alcoholic beverage.

3. The jar is tightly closed with a lid and shaken well. Leave in a dark warm place for a couple of weeks. Shake every three days.

4. Filter the tincture through a gauze-cotton filter and distribute it in bottles. Cork tightly and store in a cellar or refrigerator.

Recipe 7. Classical currant tincture at home

Ingredients

600 g of blackcurrant fruit;

half a liter of vodka or 60% alcohol.

Cooking method

1. We sort out the fresh fruits of blackcurrant, removing rotted berries, twigs and leaves. We rinse.

2. We transfer the currants into a clean dry three-liter bottle. Pour the berries with an alcoholic beverage so that it completely covers the fruits. Cork tightly and remove for three weeks in a dark place.

3. We filter the finished tincture through a special filter, pour it into clean bottles. Close tightly with stoppers and send to storage in a cold place. If you want to reduce the degree of the drink, dilute it with filtered water to the desired strength.

Recipe 8. Quick tincture of currants at home

Ingredients

a pinch of cinnamon;

a glass of black currant;

a pinch of vanillin;

a glass of granulated sugar;

half a stack. vodka;

50 g of honey;

one and a half stack. drinking water.

Cooking method

1. Rinse the blackcurrant berries cleaned of debris, leaves and twigs. Put in a blender bowl, add sugar and beat until puree. If there is no blender, grind the berries through a sieve. Transfer the mass to a saucepan and fill with water.

2. Add cinnamon and vanillin to the berry mixture. Put on a slow fire and hold until a third of all contents is evaporated. It will take about an hour and a half.

3. Strain the contents of the stewpan through a sieve. Cool to a warm state and add honey, mix and cool completely.

4. Pour contents into prepared glass containers and pour vodka. Stir and clean for a day in a dark place.

Currant tincture at home - tips and tricks

Do not throw away alcoholic berries. They can be used for desserts, baking, or added to tea.

Insist the drink only in glass containers, plastic and iron are not suitable for this.

If you are short of sweets, you can add more sugar or honey and leave for another couple of days.

Filtering can be avoided if the mashed berries are placed in a gauze bag, which you just need to remove from the finished drink.
